“With deeds and not words he will continue the efforts”

Disappointment for the postponement of the passing of the law proposal, to criminalize false complaints to the Independent Authority Investigating Allegations and Complaints, expresses the Cyprus Police Association, which expresses the hope that when the Plenary Session of the Parliament meets again there will be a positive outcome to the issue.

In a statement, the SAK states that it will support its members “wherever and where necessary, as it has done many times in the past” and also informs that it will intensify efforts to pass the relevant amendments to the law, for criminal liability for people who complain false police officers and the amendment of the criminal offense of Public Damage.

“The SAC with actions and not words will continue the efforts to improve the terms of employment and the working conditions of police officers as over time he did and continues to do so by bringing about significant improvements in the salary, hours and allowances of police officers without populism and inexpensive slogans”, he notes.

As he adds his priority “is not self-promotion, but the continuous improvement of terms and conditions of employment and payroll and generally the protection of the professional interests and rights of its members, as well as the provision of facilities and financial assistance to all its members and their dependents”.
