Two fires in different areas broke out on Saturday morning (17/08) in Evia, with the first one breaking out after seven in Mesochoria burning a forest area and the second a little while later in Zarakes.
A forest area is also on fire in Zarakes and 56 firefighters with 21 vehicles, 1 pedestrian section have been mobilized to put it out, while at the same time aerial vehicles have been “raised” and in particular 8 aircraft and 2 helicopters.
A little earlier an alarm had been raised in the area of Tsakaioi Mesochoria.
At the scene of the fire that broke out shortly after half past seven in the morning, strong ground and air firefighting forces have rushed to the scene.
In the forest area which has been engulfed in flames, Fire Brigades from Karystos, Aliveri and Chalkida are operating.
According to the fire department, 17 vehicles with 48 firefighters, 1 pedestrian section as well as two helicopters and two aircraft are at the scene.
