The increase of the income criteria of the Land Allocation Plan to low-income families was decided by the Council of Ministers at its session the day before yesterday. Specifically, with the decision taken, the amounts that were valid until today as income criteria are doubled, as a result of which the beneficiaries increase. At the same time, they are equalized with the income criteria that apply to the Housing Plan for Mountainous and Disadvantaged Areas and the Housing Plans for displaced persons implemented by the Displaced Persons Care and Rehabilitation Service.

In particular, pre-income of the Council of Ministers for the Plan for Allocation of Plots to low-income families were as follows:

  • Family of two & # 8211; € 21,000.
  • Family of three & # 8211; € 23,000.
  • Family of four & # 8211; € 26,000.
  • Family of five & # 8211; € 29,000.
  • Family of six & # 8211; € 30,000.
  • Family of seven & # 8211; € 32,000.
  • Discount was granted for each dependent & # 8211; € 1,300.

The new amounts

Based on the decision of the Council of Ministers the day before yesterday, the new income criteria that will apply to the Plan Allocation of Plots to low-income families was as follows:

let Bullet {{Bullet} Family of two & # 8211; € 45,000.

{Bullet} {Bullet} Family of three & # 8211; € 50,000.

{Bullet # {Bullet} Family of four & # 8211; € 55,000.

{Bullet} {Bullet} Family of five & # 8211; € 65,000.

As stated in the proposal submitted before the Council of Ministers by the Minister of Interior Mr. Nikos Nouris, with the increase of the income criteria will be allocated the state plots that have been separated and for which there is not enough demand due to low income criteria.

170 plus 500 plots

According to data submitted a few days ago before the Refugee Committee of the Parliament, there are about 170 unallocated plots, while another 500 plots have been granted, but were not used by the refugees, obviously due to financial difficulties. As we were duly told, the 170 unallocated plots will be allocated with the extension of the income criteria. The big question that arises is what will happen to the 500 plots that the state granted to beneficiaries, but did not proceed with the construction of a house because they are unable to do so. Will he ask for them back?

Three months deadline

The need to find solutions for the unallocated and unused plots provided by the state was stressed at a recent meeting by MPs of the Refugee Committee, who gave three months to the relevant government agencies to come back with accurate data and solutions on how these plots will be allocated. The deputies also stressed the need to find a way to help young couples to secure funding for the construction of a house on these plots, as they do not have the financial resources or income to borrow, so they remain unused.

One suggestion on the table that is being considered is for the state to consult with the Housing Financing Agency and the Land Development Agency in order to lend the young couples on favorable terms, so that they can build houses on the plots granted to them by the state. .
