Down 44 cents from its highest price for 95 gas

The price of 95 gasoline showed a decrease of 44 cents per liter on January 8, 2023, from the historic high recorded on July 12, 2022, €1,828 per liter, according to the Consumer Price Table compiled by the Cyprus Consumers Association, while a decrease of 40 cents per liter was recorded in the price of motor oil and by 35 cents per liter in the price of heating oil.  

According to the Cyprus Consumers Association, “despite the noticeable reductions in motor fuels, there was no reduction in the retail prices of the products whose prices were increased with the justification of the fuel increase”.

It also reports that December inflation “declined significantly” from 8.7% in November to 7.9%.

From January 1, 2022 to January 8, 2023, 95 petrol is up 7 cents, diesel is up 11.99 cents and heating oil is up 24.57 cents a litre.

Compared to January 1, 2021, the price of 95 gasoline marked on January 8, 2023 an increase of 31.6 cents per liter, the price of diesel increased by 48.8 cents and heating oil by 51.1 cents per liter liter.

Compared to March 10, 2020, before the start of the coronavirus pandemic, the price of gasoline 95 marked on January 8, 2023 an increase of 17.8 cents per liter, the price of oil traffic increase by 35.5 cents and heating oil by 38 cents per liter.

Furthermore, according to the Consumer Price Table prepared by the Cyprus Consumers Association, significant increases were recorded within December 2022, in relation to with the previous month, mainly among others the prices of various forms, lamb and goat meat, refrigerators, freezers and freezers, garden items, food processing appliances, sugar, other solid fuels, olive oil and cocoa and chocolate powder.

On the contrary, significant reductions during the same period, among others, the prices of fresh vegetables, excluding potatoes and other bulbs, vegetables, liquid fuels, potatoes, flour and other cereals, oil, accommodation services and fresh fruit.
