Grant Thornton Cyprus is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Harry Savvidis as the new Head of Regulatory Compliance and Investment Funds Services. With the addition of Dr. Savvidis to the Company, its strategic plans regarding the enhancement of the consulting services it offers are strengthened, while at the same time it aims to meet the growing needs of its clients.

Dr. Haris Savvidis has extensive experience in corporate law, is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association, and a Law lecturer at the Department of Digital Innovation, School of Business Administration, University of Nicosia. He obtained a BA in Law from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2005 and continued his postgraduate studies in the UK, with an emphasis on International and European Commercial Law, obtaining an LL.M in International Commercial Law from the University of Nottingham and a PhD in Law from the University of Sheffield. His areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, the regulatory framework of digital services and digital markets, particularly in the areas of corporate, investment and financial law. Haris is also one of the leading lawyers in Cyprus in the field of Blockchain and cryptocurrency advisory services, serving a wide range of regulated companies, such as Investment Firms, Alternative Investment Fund Managers, Crypto Asset Service Providers, Banks and Electronic Financial Institutions. He is a regular speaker and trainer at professional seminars, workshops and conferences, where he shares his knowledge and experience on legislative and regulatory developments and market trends in the fields of Mutual Funds, technology and digital markets, including Blockchain and digital currencies. He is also a Member/Expert of the EU Blockchain Observatory & Forum (a European Commission initiative to accelerate Blockchain innovation and the development of the Blockchain ecosystem within the EU), as well as a member of the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA) and a member of the Technology Committee of the Cyprus Bar Association.
