Clarified that no invitations were sent
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is still considering the possibility tripartite meeting, its Representative, Stefan Dujarric, said, answering a question from the Cyprus News Agency during the Press Briefing, at the headquarters of the international organization in New York. He noted, however, that no invitations have been sent.
“The Secretary-General continues to consider inviting the leaders of the two sides to a joint meeting to discuss the next steps in the Cyprus issue, these so-called tripartite meetings. It's something that, obviously, we're thinking about, but we're still looking at it,” said Mr. Dujarric.
Mr. Dujarric did not refer to possible dates >, however, he emphasized that until now no invitations have been sent to the two leaders for a joint meeting from the Secretary General's office. “What needs to be made clear is that no invitations have been sent to date,” he said.
