There is also a reference to failure to send written notification of the accident to the Nicosia District Labor Inspection Office within 15 days.

The Nicosia District Court sentenced an employer who is active, among other things, in the execution of construction works, to a total fine of €4500 for violations of the legislation that caused the injury of his employee and endangered his employees as well as other persons.

According to an announcement by the Department of Labor Inspection (TEE), these are violations of the Management of Safety and Health at Work Regulations, the Safety and Health at Work (Notification of Accidents and Dangerous Incidents) Regulations and the Employers' Liability Insurance Mandatory Laws .

The violations, it is added, related to a failure to determine the preventive and protective measures that had to be taken, based on the written assessment of the risks existing during the work resulting from the execution of his activities.

A reference is also made to failure to send within 15 days to the Nicosia District Labor Inspection Office written notification of the accident, submitting properly and fully completed the approved accident notification form which happened to his employer during his work and which made him unable to perform his work for more than three calendar days.

Finally there was failure to insure with any insurer against his liability for accident or occupational disease to any of his employees.< /p>
