The funeral of the Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysostom II took place in the Cathedral of the Apostle Barnabas in the Archdiocese, Nicosia on November 12, 2022. The funeral procession was led by the Archbishop of Constantinople and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, with the members of the Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus. The burial took place in a special grave under the Cathedral.

The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew is in Cyprus to address the last joy to the Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysostomos V.

The Ecumenical Patriarch was welcomed by the Custodian of the Archbishopric Throne, Metropolitan George of Paphos, the Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus, George Christodoulou, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ioannis Kasoulidis.
“The mournful sounds of the bells reached the Patriarchate… ; The forefather of the apostolic autocephalous Cypriot church for 16 years, after giving the last admonitions and advices, after blessing and paternal wishes to his colleagues and people, surrendered his spirit to the Lord Jesus Christ” he said, among other things, in his funeral speech, at the end of which he shed tears .
