Chrysis Pantelidis won today, Monday, the appeal made by Xenia Konstantinou to the Electoral Court, challenging the concession of the seat to the DIKO MP Chrysi Pantelidis. The appeal was directed against the Election Commissioner, as well as against the party and the MP himself. Therefore, the headquarters remains at DIKO.

It is recalled that an application submitted in 2021 by Ms. Konstantinou challenged the procedure followed for the concession of the last seat that remained unallocated in the province of Nicosia, to DIKO.
In the second distribution, 4 seats were left unallocated and as provided by the electoral legislation, the three were allocated to the first three parties. They got one from DISY, one from AKEL and one from DIKO. The fourth seat was given to DIKO and Chrysis Pantelidis.
Therefore, Xenia Konstantinou through her appeal, which was registered by the law firms Andreas M. Sophocleous & amp; SIA DEPE, Markidi, Markidi & amp; SIA and Andreas Konnaris DEPE, demanded that a by-election be held for the specific seat. It should be noted that this method of allocating seats was followed in 2016 without question.
