During today's meeting, the Politburo of EDEK set four basic criteria regarding the person who will be elected to the position of the Speaker of the Parliament.
According to an announcement by EDEK, the final stance of the Movement on the issue of the election of the Speaker of Parliament will be determined based on the principles of the party away from transactions.
“The election of the Speaker of Parliament,” he adds, “is a state process of paramount importance, as he is the second highest ranking state official.”
“Therefore,” he continues, “the person to be elected must meet certain criteria:
- Political past and skills.
- Honesty and ethics.
- Ability to manage serious parliamentary issues.
- Experience”.
“EDEK”, he states, “on the basis of the above does not intend to get involved in transaction bazaars to serve expediencies”.
“The final stance of EDEK”, he concludes, “will be determined based on the principles of the party for the interest of our homeland and our people”.
