The family “tragedy”, the end of TV and the completion of her studies

Elita Michailidou was a guest on ShowBiz's podcast, “Winter Is Back” with Charalambos Heimonas.

The beloved journalist and presenter talked about television, the family “tragedy” that was the reason for her engagement with the media, but also the new course of study she did recently.

«For TV I have to express appreciation to so many colleagues who work in this very difficult Medium for the way they work. I appreciate them. They might not be things I would do, I might change them, but it doesn't mean I don't appreciate and don't see the effort behind it. I'm glad to see a journalist who keeps the bar high. But I think that the Middle is over. Television is not what it was in the previous decade. I believe that there are other things ahead and we are at the mercy of these new situations”, Elita Michailidou initially said.

When asked about the show he would like to do today, he replied: “I am very interested in portraits of people. I like to get into the soul and character of the interviewee”.

Then, she spoke about the most pivotal moment in her professional career and the family “tragedy” that became the reason for her engagement with the media: «A pivotal moment in my life was when we lost everything and from manager of our own businesses I went out to work as a final lever on someone else's show. I enjoyed it and was very happy. I believe that everything we live is meant to humble ourselves. […] The slaps I have eaten through this family “tragedy” they brought me to a wonderful oasis. I was doing journalism before to relax and have a good time and suddenly it became my job, I was flying. I didn't have the money I had before, I didn't have the luxuries I had before, but that's not what a person needs”. em>”I have finished coaching. It was Stavros Christodoulou's idea. […] Because he saw that I love people and see the good in them, he said to me: “Elite? Why don't you do coaching?” and I did study for the last two years. I'm a graduate, but I can't practice because I'm a civil servant.”
