It is with great sadness that we were informed of the death of Andreas Dimitropoulos who passed away at the age of 84. Andreas Dimitropoulos was a founding member of the federation of environmental organizations and a pioneer in the protection of sea turtles, as on his own initiative sea turtles and their eggs have been protected since 1971 based on the Fisheries Act
Andreas Dimitropoulos was previously honored by the Environmental Movement – Citizens' Partnership for his dedication and significant contribution to the nature and environment of Cyprus with the Annual Contribution to the Environment Award.
We express our sincere condolences to the family and all friends and relatives of the deceased.< /p>

Andreas Dimitropoulos passed away today, the man who associated his name with the turtle program in Cyprus, who, together with his wife Myroula, contributed as much as few in Cyprus to the protection of nature.
