The EOA of Limassol will examine whether the conditions set by the Water Development Department (TAW) are being met
At the beginning of the week the EOA of Limassol will issue a work suspension decree for the residence being built near the Kryos River, in Pano Platres and will examine whether the conditions set by the Water Development Department (TAW) are being met, the President of the Organization, Yannis Tsouloftas, told KYPE.
Asked to comment on the issue that arose after reports and posts in the NQD, Mr. Tsouloftas said that he visited the site yesterday, together with the Director of Licensing of EOA Limassol, “to ascertain the situation on the ground”.
According to the President of EOA Limassol, the architect, who is also the owner, has secured a Planning Permit, while the works have started despite the fact that the issuance of the Building Permit is pending.
“Immediately, authorities of next week, the EOA of Limassol will issue a work suspension decree and yesterday we verbally informed the owner to stop any work”, he added.
He also mentioned that, in order to verify that the conditions of the TAU are respected, in relation to the distance from the river, the EOA of Limassol intends to ask the Provincial Land Office to accurately map the location of the river and the plot.
It is noted that the architect – owner of the building, in his written statement yesterday, rejects the complaints.
On the issue, the Environmental Movement – Citizens Cooperation is planning a protest, at 17:00 today in the afternoon, at the site of the residence under construction.
