The trade union “Equality” is calling for a protest event for low-paid public servants outside the building of the House of Representatives, on Monday 18 December at 15:30, before the start of the discussion of the State Budget in the Plenary of the body.

“Our goal is to strongly protest the exclusion of low-paid colleagues who served and are serving in Cl. A1 from the arrangement for accelerated advancement,” the union's announcement states, noting that “the said arrangement does not contain any provision for recognition of long-term service of the colleagues in Cl. A1, which constitutes a flagrant violation of their labor and human rights”.

Next, he calls on all parties to exert intense pressure to correct the injustice, while also calling on the Parliament, ” based on Article 35 of the Constitution and its express obligation to ensure the fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution, such as the right to equal treatment enshrined in Article 28, to exert appropriate pressure on the Government to bring about appropriate changes in the State Budget so that to remove the injustice against low-paid colleagues”.
