Erdogan extends hand of friendship to Macron: We want to move in solidarity with France

Turkey wants to move in solidarity with France, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told his French counterpart Emanuel Macron during a teleconference last night, their first communication in five months.

According to the official Turkish news agency Anatolian, Erdogan and Macron discussed Turkey-France bilateral relations, as well as regional and global issues. “As two strong NATO allies we can make a significant contribution to security, stability and peace efforts in a wide area from Europe to the Caucasus, the Middle East and Africa. “We want to move in solidarity with France on many issues, especially terrorism,” said Turkish President Emmanuel Macron.

The same sources report that the Turkish President stated that the dialogue between the leaders, in the relations between France and Turkey, always plays a big role.

Regarding the vaccinations, the Turkish President explained to his French counterpart that in Turkey they have started at a fast pace and that the first controlled steps of normalization have been taken. “I expressed our belief that co-operation between Turkey and France has serious potential,” the Turkish president said on his Telegram account.

In addition, on his Twitter account, the Turkish President posted a photo of himself during the teleconference. The shot also shows the portraits of Ataturk, Sultan Fatih Mehmet (Muhammad the Conqueror), Kanuni Sultan Suleiman (Suleiman the Magnificent) and Abdulhamid II.
