The Red Star Belgrade team, which has been in Cyprus since Sunday, is training in Paphos this week.
The stars of the famous Belgrade Red Star who came to Paphos to prepare for a hotel stay in Paphos will train at the Stelios Kyriakidis Stadium and the Geroskipou Stadium until next Sunday where they will leave.
Although they would like, among other things, to make good use of the good weather in Cyprus, it seems from Wednesday onwards that they are expected to train in rainy weather.
Mr. Haris Theocharous, one of the contributors to the Red Star landing in Paphos, said that the team follows the relevant protocols of the Ministry of Health and is fully satisfied with the level of training infrastructure, accommodation and in general with the whole package that Paphos offers. On the other hand, he noted about this and for the last 5 years the team has been choosing Paphos for preparation.
The Paphos Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company (ETAP) through the director of Nasos Hadjigeorgiou emphasizes that most of the conditions in the province are met so that the province can conquer a better position on the world map of sports destinations.
In particular, Paphos, Geroskipou and Pegeia offer very good hotel infrastructure and sports facilities which with some interventions, upgrades and systematic work of those involved can achieve much better results. The Director of ETAP Paphos notes that there is an urgent need to create at least 5-6 more new football fields for Paphos Destination to attract a sufficient number of teams to prepare.
