A meeting of the bodies/members of the Tourism Development and Promotion Company of the Paphos Region was held today, in the context of which a dialogue took place and decisions were made with the aim of attracting tourism for wedding ceremonies
At the meeting, according to an announcement by ETAP, representatives of the Municipalities of Paphos, Geroskipou, Pegeia, the Association of Hoteliers of Paphos, the Association of Travel Agents of Paphos and the Agritourism company participated.
Through the effort to better coordinate to attract tourism for wedding ceremonies, a wide range of actions and initiatives were examined, both for the promotion and for the coordination of actions but also for solving dating problems, it is reported.
The participants decided, among other things, to consider the possibility of participating in specialized wedding tourism exhibitions mainly in the United Kingdom, but also in other emerging markets and the handling of a bunch of PR actions, such as hosting influencers/bloggers, organizing familiarization trips to wedding ceremony organizers from existing markets as well as emerging markets such as Poland, Lebanon, France and others.
They also decided to upgrade the presentation of the “Destination Paphos”, the various venues for wedding ceremonies and the promotion of wedding tourism using digital technology .
At the same time, issues of piracy by various intermediaries in the field of wedding tourism were discussed, as well as the issue of exorbitant fees for the use of some archaeological monuments, as mentioned.
Finally, it was decided as in a meeting which will take place in March, the group should be expanded to include all hoteliers and other professionals in the private sector who actively promote this specialized form of tourism.
The meeting is judged by the Society for Tourism Development and Promotion of the Region Pafos as very successful, since the foundations have now been laid for a new approach to the development of wedding tourism in the district of Pafos, concludes the announcement.
