Hellenic Bank Employees' Association (ETYK) denounces intimidation of Hellenic Bank bank employees by representatives of the Bank's Management.
As ETYK states in today's circular, after its announcement for a 24-hour strike at Hellenic Bank on 31/5/2022, “we have received phone calls from colleagues, who complained to our Organization about the fact that they fell victim to intimidation by representatives of the Bank's Management . In particular, representatives of the Bank's Management, in various ways, intimidate colleagues in order not to exercise their constitutionally guaranteed right to strike. “
The union adds that it has filed a complaint with the Ministry of Labor. , inviting him to investigate the matter and take immediate action.
“We emphasize that our Organization is determined to deal immediately with all cases of bullying that may arise, in any way, through the Ministry of Labor, through the Trade Union Superintendent, but also with personal criminal lawsuits, both against individuals and and the Management of the Bank. & nbsp; We point out that the right to strike is guaranteed by the Constitution of Cyprus and no one has the right to prevent colleagues, directly or indirectly, from exercising it. “There are very serious criminal responsibilities for those who bully colleagues and you can be sure that our Organization will take care in every way, the offenders to suffer the consequences of their actions”, emphasizes the ETYK.
The union Calls on “all colleagues who may be bullied (directly or indirectly) by representatives of the Management, to immediately file a complaint to our Organization, so that these cases can be handled immediately and effectively.”
