In a three-hour work stoppage that will take place on Monday, November 6, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., the employees of the Hellenic Bank come down, according to a circular to the employees of the Union of Bank Employees of Cyprus (ETYK), which notes that “we must convince the management of the Hellenic Bank that it must respect the collective agreements but also the labor institutions”.
As stated, ETYK's aim is, through this struggle and the agreements that will be signed, all employees in the Hellenic Bank group must they are a single group that has the same working conditions, without discrimination and without differences in their rights.
“Everyone united with prudence and competitiveness, we can reach our final goal which is the respect of contracts and that each employee is paid decently on the same terms and of course according to experience and responsibility of the duties”, it is added.
Of course we should not forget, it is noted, that Hellenic Bank has rights to the surplus profits that came from the acquisition of the Partnership as well as those expected in 2023 and the staff, stating that when Hellenic Bank had losses we charged them to the staff, now that it has surplus profits it is expected and fair that there will be a direct or indirect restoration of the reductions in the salaries of the employees.
“The leadership of Hellenic Bank must realize that it must adopt transparency in the remuneration of its staff and not limit the reward to the few but to all of its staff”, concludes the ETYK circular.
