The commitment of Eurobank Cyprus to the support of its customers, the support of the economy and the financing of healthy and sustainable development, was expressed by the CEO of the Bank, Mr. Michalis Louis, at an event held on Thursday, June 16, 2022.
The event took place at the Event Center of Ayia Napa Marina, an important development project for the wider area of free Famagusta. The event was an opportunity for a private meeting with the Bank's customers in the provinces of Famagusta and Larnaca, after the restrictions imposed by the pandemic for the last two years. The presence of Eurobank Group executives at the event sent the message that it shows special interest in the Cypriot market and invests in supporting businesses and the Cypriot economy in general. Specifically, representing the Group, the event was attended by the Deputy Managing Director of Eurobank Group, Mr. Stavros Ioannou, the General Manager Risk Officer of the Group, Mr. Christos Adam and the Senior Advisor of Eurobank SA, Mr. Kv./p>
During his speech, Mr. Louis, after thanking the attendees for the trust they show in Eurobank Cyprus, assured that the Bank will continue, as it has done from the first moment of the pandemic until today, to support and strengthen its customers with every possible way. At the same time, it conveyed the commitment of Eurobank Cyprus to provide high quality personal service with flexibility and speed and by utilizing all the tools provided by technology to facilitate the bank's customers. The interpersonal approach and the seamless provision of support to the Cypriot economy are, after all, a strategic goal throughout the Bank's presence on the island, which this year marks 15 years.
Mr. Louis pointed out that “2022 is a milestone year in the effort to manage the effects of war and inflation”, while at the same time he sent the message that Eurobank Cyprus “remains committed and ready to finance investment opportunities that arise and which are based on correct criteria for measuring risk, performance and sustainability “. At the same time, he referred to the upcoming technological upgrade of the bank's services, as it is in the final stages of a multi-million euro investment, aiming, within 2022, to offer its customers banking technology based on state-of-the-art technology, efficiently and quickly. Mr. Louis emphasized that Eurobank Cyprus, managed in 2021 to be profitable, to have the strongest capital base in the Cypriot banking system, to maintain significant excess liquidity, to have an excellent quality loan portfolio, but above all to remain human and close to its customers.
For his part, the Deputy CEO of the Eurobank Group, Mr. Stavros Ioannou, stated that “the further development of our presence in Cyprus and our contribution in the development of the Cypriot economy is a strategic choice “. At the same time, he said that a new window of opportunity is opening, with great business opportunities, while he expressed the assessment that the Eurobank Group will continue to play a leading role, as in 2021 it continued its profitability, with the data for 2022 so far being also very encouraging. & nbsp;
