The issue of long delays in the administration of justice and the need to implement the necessary reforms was discussed at a meeting of the Minister of Justice and Public Order Stefis Drakos with a delegation of the Board of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Nicosia, chaired by the President of Nicosia.
An announcement by EBE Nicosia states that EBEL also demanded that the Commercial Court be based in Nicosia, while requesting the installation of more traffic wardens on the streets for the better management of the traffic that plagues Nicosia.
Regarding the delays in the administration of justice, the announcement states that “the delay in the adjudication of various cases creates serious problems for companies, as a result of which their liquidity and viability are affected, as well as the efforts to make Cyprus a Service Provider.” which is an important factor in attracting foreign investment “.
The Minister of Justice informed about the actions of the Ministry and stated that the reform of the Administrative System of the country is pending before the House of Representatives and with the passage of the relevant bill both the delay observed in the trial of cases and other problems will arise.
