Varysimante was the speech of the Ecumenical Patriarch Mr Bartholomew during his ordination of the new deacon Bartholomeus of the Holy Monastery of Abvakum of the Holy Metropolis of Tamasos and Orini, reaffirming once again his excellent relationship with His Holiness Mr. Isaiah.
“We thank your spiritual father Saint Tamasos, Mr. Isaiah for his love and respect for the church of Constantinople and its prelates. The presence of the venerable brother expresses and symbolizes the link of love between the churches of Constantinople and Cyprus, the long-term relationship of Cyprus with the reigning, the loving cooperation in ecclesiastical affairs.
The gesture of the new deacon Bartholomew is another blessed link between the ecumenical throne and the church of Cyprus.”
Ecclesiastical circles consider that the relations of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Metropolitan Tamasos & Orinis and Isaia are upgraded and this becomes particularly important a few days before the Archbishop's elections on the island.
