The Government is monitoring the situation in the Middle East and “everyone is on their feet”, the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works Alexis Vafeadis told KYPE.< /p>

In response to a question about the < strong>flights connecting Cyprus with Israel, the Minister said that the air “connectivity of Cyprus with Israel is maintained. Some airlines chose to temporarily stop their flight schedule to Tel Aviv, but there are also companies, which continue their flights as normal“.
< p>He added that “the Government is monitoring the situation as it develops in the region, everyone is on their feet and depending on the developments the public will be informed”.
Besides, information from Hermes Airports reported to KYPE that the cancellations of scheduled flights of airlines to Tel Aviv are balanced by additional flights of companies that continue their flight schedule.
So far, two European airlines, the < strong>Aegean and Wizz Air temporarily suspend their flights until August 11 from Larnaca to Tel Aviv.
The remaining airlines, both Israeli as well as those that are based in Cyprus and fly to Tel Aviv, they have some cancellations in their scheduled flights, however the flight schedule is balanced, as informed by KYPE, by some additional flights of other companies.
As far as regarding flights to Beirut, these do not seem to be affected at the moment by the situation prevailing in the region.
