Alley is the alley. But now when you hear the word in question your mind (especially if you're from Limassol) doesn't go to any alana, but to the new hot spot that is hidden in the heart of the city, in a location that you'll have some difficulty finding, but it will reward you with the calm vibes, the very inventive dishes, the refreshing cocktails and the good wine.
When we say Mediterranean cuisine, certain images, flavors and ingredients automatically come to mind. In Alley's case, however, things are somewhat different. In a beautiful setting (if we're talking about its idyllic courtyard), dishes are produced daily that result from the inventive recipes of chef Christoforos Tofaridis – who previously worked in well-known London restaurants.
And while we're talking. for ingenuity in the kitchen, if for example you had the opportunity to try the cauliflower dish, then you know very well that this could easily be the vindication of cauliflower.
In general, the philosophy of Alley, which is a casual dining restaurant, is sharing. Mediterranean tapas-style flavors to share, with recipes always based on seasonality and the availability of raw ingredients. The suppliers are people you will meet every Saturday in the street, small producers and always double tested!
Also, another equally important reason that they insist on being Cypriot and avoid taking products from distant destinations, in addition to supporting the local market, is their effort to have as small an ecological footprint as possible, since the need for sustainability in our time it's more than just a trend.
As far as the dishes on the menu are concerned, apart from the already popular cauliflower, which is currently not on the menu, in the two months that the Alley has been operating, recipes such as the flowers stuffed with anari and mint with the porridge, the minced meat dish which is definitely a more oriental recipe, the also excellent sea bass, the Pâté à Choux bowl with apricots, lemon leaves and thyme, or the very recent Shi drum (AKA grape and olive mill).
On the drinks menu, you will find wines (10-12 different labels), which are also served by the glass, giving people the opportunity to try even three different wines during dinner, beers ( including a gastronomic Italian beer), and of course the cocktails. Apart from the negroni, dirty martini, paloma and aperol spritz, a customer can ask for anything else in a cocktail they want.
