Audit Service Letter to Independent Anti-Corruption Authority

Letter to the Independent Authority against Corruption, sent yesterday by the Audit Service of the Republic regarding providers and number of naturalizations.
Questioned by the Cyprus News Agency after a relevant newspaper article, the representative of the Audit Service Marios Petridis stated that ” the Auditor General had said on 25/8/2022 before the House Audit Committee that once we get information from the Home Office about the providers and the number of naturalizations, we will inform the Anti-Corruption Authority”.
At the same time, he continued, during those days the Assistant Attorney General also asked us for additional information. He explained that these are elements that are in the Audit Report, but were removed due to personal data.
“The Legal Service needs names to do its job. So we added the personal data and sent it to them,” he added.
