The Famagusta Chamber of Commerce and Industry welcomes the Customs Ports Decree, as the Ayia Napa marina has been included in the ports of limited use for boarding and disembarking crews and passengers of cruise ships and large yachts.
In its announcement, EBE Famagusta states that “it welcomes with particular satisfaction the Decree on Customs Ports of 2021, K.D.P. 31/2021 which defines the ports of limited use for the purposes concerning the responsibilities of the Customs Department, which has included Ayia Napa. It is noted that the use of Ayia Napa is limited to the boarding and disembarking of crews and passengers of cruise ships and large yachts which, due to their size, can not be docked in the Ayia Napa marina, with their luggage and oil and supplies.

It is clear that the announcement continues that “this development will strengthen the effort to increase the tourist flow in the area and will create a completely new category of tourists that did not exist in the past in the free province of Famagusta.”
“The proper utilization of this favorable development and the conduct of one-day excursions in the region, may prove to be a golden opportunity for the municipalities and communities of the hinterland to be included in the tourist map of Cyprus,” it said.
The Chamber of Famagusta expresses its gratitude on behalf of the people of the free province of Famagusta, to all those who contributed to the achievement of this beneficial development and especially to the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works Giannis Karousos, without whose help this development may not be possible. ».
