The body of the woman who lost her life last night in a fatal accident that occurred on the Larnaca-Airport highway has been identified.
According to the Police, the deceased is 52 years old from Bulgaria, who worked in a Community in the province of Larnaca and has no relatives in Cyprus.
Immediately after the identification of the woman's body, her employer and friends in Cyprus were informed.
The Bulgarian embassy in Cyprus will be informed about the fatal accident and the details of the deceased in order to inform about the death of the 52-year-old, any of her relatives in her country.
The exact causes of death of the 52-year-old will be clarified by the legal autopsy that will be performed on her body within the week.
The Larnaca Traffic Department continues the investigations and examinations in order to clarify where the unfortunate woman was before the accident and how and why she was found walking on the right side of the Larnaca-Airport highway.
It is recalled that the woman around 9.20 on the night of Saturday, June 5, seems to be walking inside the highway in the direction from Larnaca airport to the roundabout of Kalo Chorio, despite the Dromolaxia exit.
Under the circumstances under investigation, the woman was dragged by a car driven by a 65-year-old man and was transported by ambulance to Larnaca General Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
The 65-year-old underwent an alcohol test with zero indication and a drug test with a negative result.
The car of the 65-year-old was kept for control by the Police while there is evidence from other cars that were moving in the area that the woman was inside the traffic lanes of the highway.
The case is being investigated by the Larnaca Traffic Department.
