The murder of a woman in Agioi Anargyros, a few meters from the police station, has raised questions about the handling of the police.
The young woman had gone to the AT, accompanied by her friend, to denounce the 39-year-old. She asked for a patrol car to accompany her home, but the officer on duty urged her to call Immediate Action.
A protest rally is being held outside the police station by women's associations from Agioi Anargyrou, Kamatero, Ilion and Petersburg.
Among them are executives of the New Left, such as Panos Skourletis, Nasos Iliopoulos, Sia Anagnostopoulou and Hara Kafantari.
It should be recalled that the order for the preliminary investigation was given by the head of the Public Prosecutor's Office, Antonis Eleftherianos. , after the transfer to Evelpidon of the case file that has been filed for the 28-year-old woman's femicide.
As part of the preliminary investigation, any criminal responsibilities of the police officers who were on duty at the AT will be sought, while the offense being investigated is that of dereliction of duty. The prosecutor who will conduct the investigation will also await the conclusion of the EDE.
