The Council of Ministers today decided to pay financial assistance of a maximum total amount of € 200,000 to farmers affected by fires that broke out on June 16, 2021 in the communities of Agia Marina Xyliatou & # 8211; Platanistasas, on June 26, 2021 in the communities of Tala-Koili and on September 19, 2021 in the communities of Giolou-Simos-Drymos-Drinia.
The fires had caused damage to crops, irrigation systems, agricultural machinery and agricultural facilities , based on the individual assessment statements to be prepared by the Department of Agriculture and in accordance with the provisions of the law.
According to a written statement by the Deputy Government Spokeswoman, Niovis Parisinou, the compensations will be paid as minor aid (de minimis). At the same time, the victims will be informed that, during the payment of the state aid, they will be offset with any debts to the state.
