The suggestion for exclusion of the vaccinated students from the measure “test to stay” will be presented before the educational organizations and the organized parents, the Ministry of Health and the Scientific Advisory Group next Tuesday.
As part of the Ministry of Health's efforts to keep schools safe and operational without depriving students of their basic right to education, students who are in close contact with a confirmed positive incident and choose to apply the “testtostay” measure may be subject to Rapid antigen test at the following sampling points:

PAPHOS | THE INTERN. SCHOOL OF PAPHOS – Secondary Education |
· The specific points will operate from 7:00 am to 8:00 am for the best service of the students who will be close contacts. (For students of Secondary Education
recommended as they arrive between the hours of 07:00 – 07:30, so that there is no further loss of teaching time).
It is reminded that:
· The observance of the above measure is optional and is addressed only to students who are close contacts of a confirmed positive COVID-19 incident and declared within the school, as they are defined by the health protocol that governs the school units (two meters away from all directions of the positive incident, inside the school room, during the break time, during the sports and during the transport by private vehicle). It is clarified that, if a person is tested in the afternoon and is found to be positive, his contacts at school will be able to use the application of the measure “testtostay”.
Children who are in close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case and should be restricted by protocol should be transported daily by their parents to the designated sampling points operating in schools for a period of 6 days to undergo a rapid detection test. (Rapid test) and then if the test is negative, to be transferred to their school unit.
· Primary and secondary school students living in remote or mountainous communities will continue to be served by the sampling points that will visit the schools, as announced by the Ministry of Health.
· It is clarified that in any case, the responsibility of escorting and supervising the children who will come to the sampling centers
located in schools, have parents / guardians.
· The measure has no retroactive effect. Therefore, it is addressed only to students who are close contacts of confirmed positive incidents that were identified in the school units from Monday, January 24, 2022.
What about close contacts who have no history of vaccination or have received at least one vaccine dose, or have completed their vaccination schedule and the 7-month period has passed, or have become ill and the 90-day period has elapsed?
· They will have the option to either be confined for 10 days as provided in the relevant protocol and released on the 7th day if they present a negative PCR test at the same cost, or to come to the predetermined points for a rapid antigen test (Rapid test) daily for for a period of 6 consecutive days after contact (excluding holidays and weekends).
· This measure only exceptionally concerns the opening hours of school units (including single all-day schools and optional all-day schools) and after the close contacts have been removed from the schools, they should be restricted, as they continue to be considered close contacts and will not be able to take part in other evening activities (such as tutoring, sports, etc.)
· These people should avoid being transported by public transport and go to school by private vehicle.
· The absence of students from the classroom during the laboratory testing process will be justified.
What about close contacts who have completed their vaccination program and have not had a 7-month period or have a disease certificate and have not had a 90-day period?
· According to the protocol they are not obliged to limit themselves, however they will come to the predetermined points for a rapid antigen test (Rapid test) daily for the period of 6 consecutive days after contact (excluding holidays and weekends), as defined by the health governing the school units (two meters distance from all directions of the positive incident, inside the school hall, during the break, during the sports and during the transport by private vehicle).
