A fine of 8 thousand euros was imposed on a property owner who illegally possessed duty-free tobacco products.
According to the Police, members of the Larnaca Police Department – Special Tasks of Pyla, in collaboration with members of the Customs Authorities, conducted a search at noon on a property, which is located in a village in the province of Larnaca.
During the search, 44 boxes of cigarettes, 3.5 kilos of tobacco and 1,250 grams of hookah tobacco were found and confiscated as evidence, all duty free.
The owner of the premises was fined by the Customs Department, amounting to 8 thousand euros, which was paid against a relevant receipt.
The case is being investigated by the Customs Department.
