A fire broke out last night in a house on the first floor of a two-storey building on Orestiada Street in upper Lakatamia.
According to an announcement by the Fire Department, the Service received a call for the fire at 19.22 and members of the Police and the Fire Service from the Lakatamia Fire Station responded to the incident with 2 staffed fire trucks.
The fire was brought under control at 19.58.
The fire affected part of the metal roof covered with wood, plasterboard and wooden beams. The smoke affected part of the construction sites and their equipment.
No one was in danger. The fire was caused by a fireplace chimney.
In the meantime, the Fire Department from 06.00 on February 1, 2021 until 06.00 on February 2, 2021 responded to 25 calls for help, of which 16 were related to fires and 9 special services.
