The first EU Prize for Health 2020, in the category of NGOs of the European Commission, was awarded to the Pancyprian Association of Cancer Patients and Friends of PASYKAF, for the 'Program for the eradication of the human papillomavirus in Cyprus'.

The 'Program for the eradication of the human papillomavirus, in Cyprus' of PASYKAF
started in 2010 as part of PASYKAF's commitment and contribution to cancer eradication. The program focuses on 3 areas: raising public awareness about the prevention of HPV-related cancers, achieving the introduction of a national school HPV vaccination program for 12-year-old girls in 2016 and extending coverage to boys in 2020, Implement a national eradication plan for HPV-related cancers by 2030, in line with ECCO guidelines.
The European Health Award 2020 honors cities and schools that positively impact their communities by promoting healthy lifestyles between children (6-18 years old) and NGOs, schools and kindergartens that promote vaccination of children (0-18 years old) ).
In addition to celebrating their achievements and commitment, the EU Health Award raises awareness of the vital role that these schools, kindergartens, NGOs and cities play in strengthening participatory democracy and active citizen participation in public health.
