The further expansion of cooperation and exchange of good practices was the goal of the two-day visit by a delegation of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum of Greece >, which took place in Cyprus between October 31 and November 1.
According to an announcement by the Ministry of the Interior, representatives of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum of Greece, led by the Secretary General of Reception of Asylum Applicants Manos Logothetis, met with the Director General of the Ministry of the Interior Dr. Kostas Konstantinou and officials from the Ministry of the Interior, the Asylum Service, the Department of Urban Planning and Housing, as well as representatives from other competent state agencies, such as the Aliens and Immigration Service and the Department of Social Welfare Services, to discuss issues related to the areas of immigration and asylum, in the two countries.
< p>As noted, during the meeting each country presented the current situation in terms of the challenges they face in the field of irregular immigration, due to the ever-increasing migration flows, while there was an exchange of views and good practices in order to jointly address them problems presented due to excesses e.g services, which the two countries accept.
It is added that during their visit, the representatives of the Greek Ministry visited the First Reception Center “Pournara”, as well as the Kofinou and Limnes Hospitality Centers, as well as the Detention Center for Undocumented Immigrants in Menogeia, while they also visited a structure for hosting unaccompanied minors, under the supervision of the Social Welfare Services.
