The residents of the Parish of Agios Konstantinos and Eleni are returning on the occasion of the non-relocation of the Asphalt Plants in Dali, emphasizing among others in their announcement that ” The fight for their inalienable right to fresh air must not leave anyone unmoved .”
What the announcement says:
The quality of our life is inextricably linked to the quality of the air we breathe. The residents of the parish of Agios Konstantinos and Eleni in Dali, know this better than anyone since they live in a congested area due to the operation of the two asphalt factories which emit hazardous pollutants.
The struggle for their inalienable right to fresh air must not leave anyone unmoved . As the Pancyprian Association of Chemical Scientists, we stand by the residents of the area and demand the immediate implementation of the decisions for their relocation.
The immediate termination and relocation of polluting factories from the area is an urgent need and every day of obstruction and delay simply puts more strain on the health of our fellow citizens.
Fresh air is life. And no one has the right to deprive us of it.
