The Group of Seven industrialized nations has agreed to distribute at least one billion coronavirus vaccines by the end of 2022 in hopes of eradicating the disease, the British prime minister has said after the G7 summit in England.
“I asked my counterparts to help prepare and distribute the doses needed to vaccinate the whole world by the end of 2022,” Boris Johnson told a news conference. “I am pleased to announce that this weekend the leaders pledged at least one billion doses, either directly or through funding from Covax [sharing mechanism],” he added.
