George Loukaidis [AKEL]: The candidacy of Andros Kyprianou for Speaker of Parliament is also on the table

At the table, he admitted that the name of Andros Kyprianou, on behalf of AKEL, the Parliamentary representative of AKEL and MP George Loukaidis, is on the Citizen 107.6 & 97.6, as a proposal for the presidency of the Parliament.

Mr. Loukaidis said that AKEL is talking to all the opposition parties and after clearing the landscape, the final decisions will be made. He stated that “AKEL's criteria are political”, while adding that he does not want to advance any decision. “Andros Kyprianou”, he noted, “continues the contacts with the opposition parties”.

They do not know what will happen to Adamou

“We do not have”, he said, “any information about a possible ministerial appointment of Dr. Adamos Adamos until the former Speaker of Parliament, but it is not tried and good”, stressed Mr. Loukaidis.

Regarding the call of President Anastasiadis for the creation of an ecumenical government, the Parliamentary representative of AKEL, said that “for the good of the place, populism must stop”, thus leaving hints of populism on the part of the government for the ecumenical government and disposition by for solidarity given the reforms that need to be made in the near future. “We have,” he concluded, “a government that does not show a willingness to cooperate and dialogue with other parties.”
