In its announcement, the Pancyprian Union of Government Doctors (PASYKI) states:
“It is with great sorrow that we announce a warning three-hour work stoppage on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, between the hours of 10:00 and 13:00 at the Athalassa Psychiatric Hospital. Any alternative has disappeared.
The Competent Authority has been deaf over time, although it knew in time it did not do the obvious, one meeting follows the other, countless “WILL”, in the background the patients at their mercy, with the Health professionals being called to cover the inaction and the shortcomings in everything the levels and shifting of responsibilities to Physicians.
Doctors, both in the context of their profession, as well as their function, are unable to provide their appropriate services to patients under the conditions provided to them and can not consent to the continuation of the current situation at the Athalassa Psychiatric Hospital.
