The issues of abuses, the TAEP and the inclusion of new drugs in the GESS were discussed today at a meeting under the President of the Republic. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Health Mr. Michalis Hadjipandella and a delegation of the OAY and took place in the context of a series of meetings that the President of the Republic had with all stakeholders in the health sector.

Speaking after the meeting, the Minister of Health stated that at today's meeting “explanations were requested for the problems and the OAY and the Ministry of Health pledged to work harmoniously and in cooperation to solve the problems that have plagued patients for a long time.” .

Asked to say which issues were examined and if timetables have been set, Mr. Hadjipandela said that the timetables will be studied by the OAU. He pointed out that there was an extensive discussion on the issue of the inclusion of new drugs in the System, as well as on the Accident and Emergency Departments and the abuses of the System.

Mr. Hadjipandella reiterated that the intention of the Government is that “there will be no changes in GESS”, emphasizing that even today the President of the Republic was clear, assuring that “the philosophy of GESS does not change”.
