Approximately 40 people from a village in the wider area of Vouprasia went to the Health Center of Varda Ilia to seek help, after participating in a local celebration for Saint George, which included various delicacies.
In particular, according to the ERT, they presented symptoms similar to those of gastroenteritis, but with severe pain in the abdomen, nausea and diarrhea.
As it was established, it was food poisoning, which was finally treated with medication and a short stay of the patients in the specific Nursing Unit.
Fortunately, none of the cases developed any further complications and everyone returned to their homes.
