“To survive, I had to take life into my own hands”
An interview with’ of all material to the journalist Sasa Stamatis for the needs of the On Time newspaper, granted by Naira Alexopoulou. Among other things, the Greek singer talked about the immoral proposals she occasionally received.
You started working at night when you were 15 years old. How were things?
In order to survive, I had to take life into my own hands, not depend on my family. It was too dangerous to work at night when I was 15. They offered me, when I was underage, to pay me to go for a night with them. They used to tell me “I'll give you that much, do you want it?”. In fact, I remember, one had offered me the sum of 20,000 euros for one night. I told him “give them where you know”. I was a very dynamic child and all this did not deter me, nor did it change my character.
Have you been through difficult times?
I have happened to be without euros in pocket and no job at the same time. Fortunately, I had my mother by my side, who is my support, and that gave me the strength to work again and do it again.
