The invitation of the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, for the informal five-party conference on Cyprus at the end of April in Geneva, has reached the Turkish leader, according to a written statement, his representative, Berna Celik Dogrougiol.
According to reports from the Occupied Territories, Ms. Dugrujl said in a letter to Guterres that the purpose of the informal conference was to determine whether or not there was common ground between the parties so that formal negotiations could begin.
Ersin Tatar's spokeswoman says the Turkish leader's positive response to the UN Secretary-General's invitation will be conveyed to Mr Guterres through the pseudo-state delegation in New York tomorrow, March 1st.
