Given the green light from the Council of Ministers, the proposals submitted by the Minister of Health, Michalis Hatzipantela, regarding the containment of the pandemic, after the alarm signaled by the outbreak of the new wave in China.
As stated in a relevant announcement, at today's session of the Council of Ministers, the Minister of Health, after a meeting with the members of the Scientific Advisory Committee that took place yesterday, January 10, 2023, presented the recommendations submitted by the members of the committee following an evaluation of the epidemiological picture recorded in Cyprus, as well as the recommendations of the European Commission, regarding the epidemiological picture recorded in China.
Taking into account the above, the Council of Ministers decided:
a) from January 15, 2023 (5 am) as the demonstration of a negative molecular test (PCR) is required from all passengers arriving in Cyprus from China, 48 hours before their departure (direct flight or return flight) .
b) as recommended the use of a protective mask and the observance of personal hygiene and protection measures on all flights to and from Cyprus, as well as in meeting areas (indoor areas).
c) conducting analyzes of airport and airplane wastewater by a company that will undertake the collection and analysis, following a tender announced by the Ministry of Health.
d) the extension of all existing measures until on March 15, 2023.
e) the continuation of the delivery of in vitro diagnostic medical devices and vaccines for the disease COVID-19, to be subject to a zero VAT rate.
