Handcuffs on 28-year-old after episodic pursuit - A total of 43 burglary cases to be investigated in Paphos

The Police seems to be close to the investigation of 22 cases of burglary and theft, committed in Paphos, in the last two months, after yesterday's arrest of a 28-year-old resident of Paphos.

The 28-year-old was wanted by the Police, after arrest warrants were pending against him, regarding 22 cases of burglary and theft, committed between December 2021 and January 2022 in Paphos. Following his arrest, the 28-year-old was brought before the Paphos District Court, which issued an eight-day detention order against him.

The arrest of the 28-year-old was episodic, after he was chased in the streets of Paphos. Specifically, around 6.35 p.m. Yesterday, during a police operation to locate him, the 28-year-old was found driving a car on a street in Paphos. Members of the Police signaled him to stop for control, however he developed speed and continued his course.

The police followed the vehicle of the 28-year-old, who in his attempt to escape, was driving dangerously and fell into a pile of traffic violations. At some point on Paphos Chrysanthou Street, the 28-year-old lost control of his vehicle, as a result of which it hit an electric pole and came to a standstill.

The members of the Police then arrested the 28-year-old, under the court warrants that were pending against him. A search of his car turned up one gram of cannabis and three grams of methamphetamine, as well as a large number of power tools, burglar tools and assault rifles.

A search was also conducted at the 28-year-old's home, after his arrest, where a large number of electric and other tools, mobile phones and assault weapons were found and seized as evidence.
