Four people were arrested yesterday by the Police, in the context of a case of illegal drug possession. They are three men aged 46, 33 and 21 and a woman aged 38. More than 2 kilos of white powder, believed to be cocaine, were found in the 46-year-old's home.
According to a statement from the Police, “the arrest of the above persons was preceded by a coordinated operation of the Anti-Drug Service of the Headquarters, during which the 33-year-old's car was initially stopped yesterday afternoon for a search in an area of Nicosia”.
During the search, a 33-year-old man was found in the car with a handmade cigarette containing dry cannabis, as well as a nylon bag containing white powder believed to be about 100 grams of cocaine.
As part of the investigation of the case, a search followed at the home of the 46-year-old, in the presence of the 33-year-old and the 21-year-old, during which 2 kilos and 215 grams of white powder believed to be cocaine, various tobacco products and a sum of money were found and confiscated.
All four were arrested on bail and remanded in custody.
