With its announcement, APOEL discloses some data concerning Stavros Gavriil, who, according to the blue-yellows, has asked to leave in order to continue in the team abroad.
As noted, the footballer gave a negative answer to the Nicosia team for an extension with a multi-year contract, while the proposal from a foreign team “does not correspond to reality”.
Based on the fact that the player, according to the announcement, did not appear in the last two training sessions before the match against Anorthosis, it was decided to train with the under-19 team.
< b>The announcement:
“The company APOEL FOOTBALL (PUBLIC) LTD informs the following in relation to the case of football player Stavros Gavriel. During the last few months our team's management entered into discussions with the player's side for a long-term extension of his contract with benefits that proved how much the team believes in his value and perspective. Unfortunately, the footballer's answer was negative since, as he informed us, he does not wish to remain at APOEL and wants to move to a team abroad. We were even informed of a proposal that in no way corresponds to reality.
We hoped that Stavros Gavriel's side would fully understand the obligations arising from his contractual obligations towards APOEL. Instead, the footballer, on Thursday 04/01 and Friday 05/01, refused to participate in training. In a crucial week for the team, he put himself above the pack and out of the team. Therefore, it was decided that he will now train and compete with the under-19 team”.
