He picked us up and picked us up! Power outages, tree and pile falls, closed roads

Successive problems are caused from the morning in many areas of Cyprus, due to the strong winds that prevail.

The Fire Service, the Police and the EAC crews have been running since the morning to prevent all the problems that have arisen.

The Fire Service through its representative, Andrea Ketti, informed that in Nicosia and Limassol trees fell, while in Larnaca a fire broke out in a palm tree after its contact with EAC cables.

A fire station in Limassol was also called upon to move a billboard because it was in danger of falling due to strong winds.

In Nicosia we had in two cases an alarm for members of the Police. Specifically, on Athalassa Avenue, a specific section of the road was closed, due to scaffolding that was in danger of falling.

At the same time on Limassol Avenue, two lanes of the road were closed due to a pile fall.

On the other hand, EAC crews are mobilizing to repair damage that occurred in three provinces.

The Meteorological Service had issued a yellow warning yesterday for stormy winds that would prevail today, Wednesday 10/11. Citizens are advised to be especially careful as the same weather conditions are expected to prevail throughout the day.
