A case of robbery, theft of a vehicle and arson of a vehicle is being investigated by the Police in Strovolos, following a relevant complaint by a 30-year-old resident of Nicosia.
According to an announcement by the Police, as the 30-year-old stated, around 8 p.m. Yesterday, while he was inside his parked vehicle, in an open space in Strovolos, he was approached by a pedestrian, an unknown man, who after punching him, stole his wallet and fled.
The 30-year-old followed the stranger, with the result that he attacked him again. The stranger then allegedly fled the scene, using the complainant's car.
A little while later, around 10 p.m. Police received information that in an open area in Nicosia, there is a fire in a car. Members of the Police and the Fire Service went to the scene and extinguished the fire.
It was found that it was the car of the 30-year-old, which suffered minor damage inside. From the examinations carried out at the scene, the fire seems to have been set maliciously.
