A 50-year-old man was remanded in custody until February 1, 2023, the date on which his case will be heard for allegedly securing money with false representations from elderly women.  According to a statement from the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters, the case of securing money by false representations, in which a 50-year-old man is allegedly involved, was registered today Thursday at the Paphos District Court. The case was set for February 1, 2023 and the Court ordered that the 50-year-old remain in custody until the case is heard.   According to the Press Spokesperson of the Paphos Police Department and Head of the Paphos Crime Investigation Department, Michalis Nikolaou, the person in question engaged the Police many times with similar crimes with actions in all provinces and apparently under various false pretenses he extracted sums of money mainly from elderly persons.   In 2022 the 50-year-old was sentenced to prison and was released around the end of November 2022.   The 50-year-old who hails from Limassol was wanted since January 16, 2023, in connection with an investigation into obtaining money by false pretenses, an offense committed on January 2, 2023 in Paphos.
