A 37-year-old man is wanted today in Paphos, who is wanted by the Romanian authorities, on the basis of a European warrant, in connection with a bank fraud case, committed on January 1, 2013, in Romania. The 37-year-old was detained for the purpose of starting the extradition process in Romania.
Information on the issuance of the European arrest warrant issued by the Romanian authorities was sent to the Paphos Police Department by the Directorate of European Union – International Police Cooperation – DEE-DAS, of the Police Headquarters. WEU-DAS had been informed of the issuance of the warrant by Europol.
Members of TAE Paphos located the 37-year-old around 5.45 on Sunday afternoon and proceeded to arrest him.
